Bio

Jordi Ruiz Cirera is an award-winning photographer living between Geneva and Barcelona, working for leading international publications, non-profit organizations, and commercial clients. In addition to commissions, he develops long-term photo and film projects in which he explores different themes such as migration, the environment, and social issues.

Jordi is a recipient of the Magnum Foundation’s Emergency Fund and the winner of prestigious awards including The Taylor-Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize, POYi, Lucie Awards, and Magenta Flash Forward. In 2012, he was chosen as AOP Student of the Year, in 2015 selected as one of Magnum’s 30 under 30, and in 2023 shortlisted for the Leica Oskar Barnack Award.

Passionate about immersing himself in the stories he covers, Jordi is a gifted observer who crafts raw, intimate visual narratives. Drawing from over 12 years of experience as a documentary photographer, he brings authenticity to his commercial work, creating visual narratives that resonate with real-life experiences.
