Exhibition at Photoforum Pasquart
Very excited to announce the project Where the Line Blurs has been a selected a finalist of this years Prix Photoforum, one of Switzerland's most prestigious photography and visual arts platforms.
Since its inception in 1993, the Prix Photoforum has celebrated innovation and creativity in photography, inviting artists to push boundaries and share new perspectives. This year, the jury—comprising Alfio Tommasini (Co-founder and Director, Verzasca Foto), Teresa Gruber (Head of Exhibitions & Specialisation, Fotostiftung Schweiz), Morgane Paillard (Director, Alt+1000), Nicolas Savary (Photographer and board member of Photoforum), and Amelie Schüle (Director, Photoforum)—has selected a group of exceptional works to be exhibited at the Photoforum Pasquart in Biel/Bienne.
“In Where the Line Blurs, Jordi Ruiz Cirera explores life along Mexico’s northern border, revealing the complex realities beyond headlines of violence and migration. Through sensitive and intuitive images, he captures the daily lives of residents navigating an environment shaped by tension, isolation, and cultural convergence. The series portrays scenes of everyday moments—celebrations, departures, and the ever-present border wall—offering an intimate look at how people endure and adapt in a region marked by contrasting worlds. Ruiz Cirera invites viewers to consider the personal stories that coexist within this contested space.”
The project will be on display at Photoforum Pasquart from the 8th of December until the 26st of January 2025.
